Camp movie 2021

Hey viewers and bloggers!

This is my camp movie and experiences on camp! 

This is the project that i have been working on this past week, and i hope you enjoy it! You may watch this movie if you like!

if not i will be putting things i enjoyed and liked during camp

At lunchtime and morning tea, dinner etc

the food was delicious. It was probably my favorite parts, also i really liked swimming in the inside pools with my friends. We all had an amazing time during camp. But the walk to camp was a nightmare!! 

Everybody almost past our by the time we got to camp. It took about 2 hours to get up top of the hill and get to our camp that we would be spending 3 days at.

but other than that i had an amazing time, it was the best thing this year. thanks you living springs for letting us visit your camp. PS)(you guys should also check it out, its pretty good!

Here are the questions that i was told to answer in the Ruru blog!

The new skills that i learnt during my movie was to make the text go over a photo with transition folding with the text.

i think that this was an okay way to present my work but i prefer writing a prologue about it.

at camp it was hard doing some activities throughout it .

i don't not have any questions.

i would probably do better next time by adding more detail and making it a little longer

School Camp Recount 2021

MY CAMP EXPERIENCES

 After walking a long way, across the roads, through the bushes, along the paths.

(it was very tiring) 

We made it to our destination. After having our ruru hui, we finally got settled in our bunk rooms. As I walk in my soul is squealing with happiness. Setting up my top bunk that is located in the corner left as you walk in, as I fold out the smooth feeling of the sheet. I'm getting all my bags in place, and placing my sleeping bag. I'm finished getting my bunk space ready and so are the others in the bunk room that I'm staying in for these days.

Once we were all set, everybody met in the autotoruim room (the main hall) to talk about our first activities.The first activities that we did was orienteering ( for example, orienteering is like teamwork activities that you have to use team building skills to gain trust in your team) Suddenly my heart stopped, i felt a panic attack coming. I cried in tears and started to lose my vision. But luckily I was still able to breathe. I found myself sitting in a chair in the cafeteria. After a while when I calmed down, I got to have an early jam slice ( it had pink icing\Yum!). They had blown the siren to let everybody know that it was over and they all  had to meet in the autotoruim.

After more talking they were all let go to have their jam slice’s.

Some of us had rested a bit and just got out around their bunk rooms to have a tiny break after they had eaten, to get ready for the next rotation.

this is my poster i made on piktochart about pest and threats and 1080, i decorated it with birds and trees with leaves around the poster!

i wrote 10 facts about my topic. i hope that you enjoy this!

Next i also made a bunk label for camping!

Reading work maori language week

WALT:Analyse and evaluate the actions and story lines of Maori myths and legends.  

just a tiny catch up on work this week, i have been learning about a story about how Maui discovered fire. For create task 1 i had to fill out a analyzing sheet and write down how the story works. For create task 2, first i wrote about if i disagree or agree on the current story and i had to agree weather it was okay that Maui was okay to trick fire goddess. For my second create task i had to translate words related to my story into Maori language, i used a Maori dictionary to translate the English. I had to make a animation and put my glossary words into my animation, i used  bitable to make my animation slide of my glossary.

Bubble school!

 In bubble school, i have done some writing. i choose a random photo and started to write a little story!

this story is about a new moon, and people are celebrating the new moon with fireworks. But there is a little kitten who was actually living on the moon!

Nelson Mandela is famous, and remembered for, his icon of democracy and his social justice! he was the one that has tried to save people from racism. Nelson Mandela had fought his life for his people and will always be remembered from his savior.

Nelson Mandela was alive till 1916 to 2013

Reading W8 T2

 Hey readers,

this week for reading i have been doing task about the Maori new year.

i have not finished this because threw this week i have been practicing my student summit, you can cheek out my student summit blog post. 

Te Papa Website: Matariki is not a constellation, it is indeed a star cluster in the sky. You can see Matariki for yourself from early June, before sunrise. Matariki is the closest star cluster to earth, but it is still 440 light years away. If you drive 100 kilometers an hour, the cluster gets million light years further.  Matariki was used by one of the crews of voyaging waka to guide them across the pacific

Celebrating Puanga at Ramanui: In many parts of Aotearoa, people celebrate the Maori new year when Matariki [a group of stars] appears. However, if you live in taranaki, Matariki is very hard to see because it is very low in the eastern sky. Instead the people of Taranaki look for Puanga [also called Rigel]. Puanga is a very bright star that can be seen above three stars named Tautoru [the Orin’s belt].

Video #2: Matariki is The seven sisters stars. Matariki is also the oldest sister star's name, also used for the maori new year name! You can see the matariki stars for most of the year, but they disappear from the sky in Aotearoa  by late april.The stars  will appear again in winter or late may or early june. It is the beginning of the year, and there is not much to celebrate. The Matariki group has other names also, Waiti waita waipuna-a-rangi  Tupou-nuku Tupu-Rangi 

Ururangi. And the seventh sister, Matariki.

Matariki is the eldest sister, and she guides her younger sisters to their places in the sky.

The Matariki is a family of stars. They symbolize the maori New Year, it's a cultural tradition. Ranginui and papa- Enugu. The seven sisters love to roam around and play with the other stars.They are very entertaining, they had to find a way to stop them from being so annoying. The blue and the red star was going to get the oldest sister to try and settle them down, so she did. The seventh sister shouted, gather and gather! They came in and settled.    

My favorite part was learning about the 7 Star sisters, and the other star Puanga.

Student summit at Hornby School 26/6/2021

Hey bloggers,

Today eight people from wigram / including me has gone to hornby primary for student summit.

If you don't know what a student summit is, its something that some students each year go to schools to present or to learn from other schools. 

Myself and Lucas, presented tips for google slideshows i will put the link. 

Karatiana and Zia did a presentation on a google form how to make a quiz.

I had a lot of fun during this student summit and i hope that i get to do this again sometime next year.

The Wonky Donkey W7 T2 Reading NOT FINISHED

WALT:Make connections between ourselves, other texts in the world.

This week i have been reading the wonky donkey. for my first create task, on the"YOURSELF" Box i had to put what i had liked about the story wonky donkey.

On the "OTHER TEXT" box i had to say what movies/ books are similar to the wonky donkey.

on the "THE WORLD" box i had to say what it is related to from  the world on to the book

On my 2nd create task i had to make a Venn Diagram on two story characters from different books, an also see their similarities  

Sorry i couldn't finish, it was because i was not here on the first day and i couldn't really catch up.

And also there is 4 create task, also i was a bit lose in time.

What i liked about this weeks create task is the Venn diagram! its my first one yet, i hope i get to do another one someday soon.

So there we have it, my reading create task for this week!

At school this week, in my class we are doing are reading create task. The book that i am reading is called, the Goldilocks story. The Goldilocks story goes by a little girl that came across a house in the forest while chasing after butterfly. But it turns out, the story has a twist! There is a Wolf in the Goldilocks story, Crazy am i right?

For my challenge

There was a girl called red riding hood, now this red riding hood is not like the original story, it has a tiny twist.

Walt:use prior knowledge when making text to text connections.

 It was very late, and an earthquake had happened and a girl called Ellie had rushed to the doorway to crouch for protection, until she had remembered what her teacher had said, her teacher had that that the doorway may not be the safest place to go, when a earthquake is happening. She had no chance to run under her desk, so she just huddled up. When it stopped, they all met downstairs and turned on the radio. The next day, Ellie and her mum had walk over to the supermarket, it was almost empty. When they got home, Ellie’s friend Penny had called and said that her house has to be demolished and she moved to her aunties. Ellie was glad she was not injured.

Hey Bloggers, this week its just the same create task as last week. What i have done on create task 1, is that i had to, Write the characters names of the story.Then i had to put the problem, and then the solution.And i wrote what was in my complimentary text and challenge text. And then i had to put the story together. For create task 2 i had to re-write the ending of my story\ Last paragraph. For create task 3, i had to pretend that i were a police officer, and then question the main character and then make them answer!☺💗

The story was about that Abena was going to be married by the fathers decision, But the mother had declined, So they agreed that the man that told the longest story would be able to marry Abena.

     If Abena did not want to marry him then she would probably me forced, Or just not married.

READING WORK WEEK 11 TERM 1

Hey guys this is my reading work the last work for this term, i hope you guys like it because we were making ANZAC slides.What i did here was that i had made my own ANZAC flag on slide 3,i also had made some facts on slide 2 about ANZAC Day and what it is all about and when we do it and why,i also had written a letter for ANZAC heroes,it is in the 4th slide.The first slide is just for fun and i had made a soldier back-round  with poppies on the floor. I'm not sure if i did the poem on the 5th slide? Anyways,Enjoy!
